Radon Mitigation
Radon mitigation is the process of reducing elevated radon levels inside a home by safely venting radon gas from beneath the structure to the outside before it can accumulate indoors. Radon is a naturally occurring, odorless radioactive gas that enters homes through the soil and can pose long-term health risks when levels remain elevated. Effective mitigation focuses on controlling pressure differences and creating a reliable pathway for radon to exit the home rather than sealing it inside.
At Pure Estate, our radon mitigation process begins with an evaluation of the home’s foundation type and air pathways to determine the most effective system design. We typically install a sub-slab or sub-membrane depressurization system that uses PVC piping and a continuously operating, energy-efficient fan to draw radon-laden air from beneath the home and vent it safely above the roofline. All penetrations are properly sealed, systems are installed to current industry standards, and a post-installation radon test is recommended to confirm effectiveness. Our approach prioritizes performance, durability, and minimal impact to the home—while focusing on long-term indoor air safety.
